The Auditor’s Building, now functioning as the headquarters of the U.S. Forest Service, is another historic landmark building. This large brick office building with a brick tower sits just north of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum at the intersection of 14^th and Independence Avenue. Because of its multiple office floors, it would be difficult to convert this building into a modern museum. Like all of the sites in this report, it has been listed as the site of a future museum. It sits within a few hundred yards of the Washington Monument and overlooks the White House.
